About the Role
Due to continued growth, Select Logistics are seeking a Senior Logistics Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will have proven experience working on major projects and excel at building strong stakeholder engagement. This role will build on experience gained through the Logistics community to ensure best practices are implemented and communicated to the central logistics team for sharing across the business. The role will support the Letchmore Substation project.
The Senior Logistics Manager will be responsible for creating major project logistics strategy documents including site and factory set up mobilisation plans. Key duties include materials forecasting, flow development and reporting; leading the plan for entry and exit of all material movements inclusive of Delivery Management System transport modes such as road, rail, and shipping; development of the freight profile including bulks and abnormal indivisible loads (AILs); forecasting vehicle movements and quantities; and developing people forecasting, monitoring, and reporting data.
Additional responsibilities include supporting demand profiling for site temporary utilities, project mobilisation coordination including design, installation, and handover to operational teams, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires good knowledge and experience of Construction Consolidation Centres (CCC) and ideally experience within nuclear, power, or infrastructure sectors.
The Senior Logistics Manager will advocate for sustainability best practices and innovation within their function, driving ongoing improvements to maximise benefits to the business and celebrating successes. Competent IT skills are essential, including proficiency with MS applications, delivery management systems, access control, and telematics.

Experience
- Proven experience working on major projects and building strong stakeholder engagement.

- Knowledge of materials forecasting, flow development, and reporting.
- Experience leading plans for material movements across multiple transport modes including road, rail, and shipping.
- Development of freight profiles including bulks and abnormal indivisible loads (AILs).
- Forecasting vehicle movements and quantities.
- Experience with Construction Consolidation Centres (CCC).
- Ideally experience in nuclear, power, or infrastructure sectors.
- Understanding of critical transport set up on construction projects.
- Proven data analysis skills and experience with construction activities and plant movements.
- Working knowledge of vehicle load safety and health and safety standards for pedestrian access routes.
- Competent IT skills including MS applications, delivery management systems, access control, and telematics.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) is desirable.
