About the Role

As a Senior Manager within AWS Startup Investor Management, you will lead efforts to establish AWS as the foundation for the next generation of technology companies. Trusted by more startups worldwide, AWS empowers founders with the same technology that powers the world's largest companies. With nearly 20 years of experience supporting hundreds of thousands of startups, the AWS Startups team helps founders prove that their world-changing ideas are possible at any stage of growth and funding. This role focuses on working closely with venture capital firms and angel investors to accelerate portfolio company success by unlocking the potential of their startups on AWS, enabling faster innovation and scaling.

You will combine technical expertise in cloud and emerging technologies such as generative AI with business acumen to identify opportunities and ensure startups have access to the tools, expertise, and support needed to build world-changing products on AWS infrastructure. You will drive AWS market and technical strategy in the UK and Ireland startup ecosystem, focusing on early-stage companies and seed funds. You will create and execute initiatives aligning AWS services and programs with startup needs, serve as a technical and business advisor to portfolio companies, and lead cross-functional teams to develop programs that accelerate startup growth. Additionally, you will translate early ecosystem signals from investors and founders to guide AWS strategy and maintain AWS as the preferred partner for startups to build their technologies.

Experience
- Proven experience building and leading large teams in matrixed operating structures
- Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders including C-level executives and cross-functional teams
- Background in the technology industry with a focus on startups and venture capital
- Technical leadership experience combined with deep understanding of cloud computing benefits and best practices
- Experience evaluating technical solutions and architectures in a startup context
- Track record of developing and executing strategic business initiatives

- Passionate about startups and emerging technologies including AI/ML and security
- Demonstrated ability to understand multiple technical domains and commercial aspects of fast-growing technical businesses

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or technical management field or equivalent experience
- Preferred qualifications include experience managing and developing high-performance teams, startup founder or CxO experience, venture investment experience, advanced degree (MBA or technical), and experience building and scaling cloud-native applications
