About the Role
Be an integral part of an agile team that's constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products. As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - eTrading team, you will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions. You will apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges spanning multiple technologies and applications.

Your responsibilities will include regularly providing technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors. You will develop secure and high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.

As a function-wide subject matter expert, you will actively contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices. You will influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies, while fostering a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

You will also drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. This includes AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident/root-cause analysis, while establishing measurable validation standards such as secure coding, peer review, and automated testing. Promoting reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain will be a key part of your role.

Applying your knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, you will improve the value realized by automation at scale.

Experience
- 10+ years of applied experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated skills in programming languages C and C++
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting)
- Practical cloud native experience
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
- Experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable depth in one or more technical disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile

Qualifications
