About the Role
Are you ready to take on a role where your ideas, energy and expertise will directly shape the workforce, culture and future of not one, but two ambitious London councils? As Senior Organisational Development Adviser, you’ll operate at the centre of transformation, designing and delivering high-impact interventions which improve how our organisation works, how our people grow and how our culture evolves.
Working across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, you’ll be part of a unique shared organisational model delivering services across two boroughs, giving you the scale, visibility, and influence to make a genuine impact, working closely with senior leaders in a role which offers challenge, variety, and opportunity.
You’ll design and deliver initiatives which:

- Embed a high-performing, inclusive organisational culture
- Position the councils as an employer of choice
Key Priorities
1. Enhancing Workforce Development
You’ll play a central role in shaping how we grow and develop our people by designing and embedding impactful organisational development interventions, supporting career development pathways across the workforce, and working with OD, HR and service leaders to align development with organisational need.
2. Driving a High-Impact Early Careers Offer
You’ll lead and evolve our early talent pipeline, ensuring we invest in future capability by developing and promoting apprenticeships and growth & skills levy-funded programmes, leading our graduate development programme, and maximising the impact of early careers offers to support long-term workforce sustainability.
3. Transforming Employee Engagement & Experience
You’ll shape how employees experience working here by leading and supporting employee voice initiatives such as surveys and engagement activity, turning insight into meaningful action and improvement, and developing inclusive approaches to recognition, communication and culture.
4. Embedding Culture, Values and Inclusion
You’ll help ensure our organisational values aren’t just words but lived experiences by embedding behaviours that reflect our culture and ambitions, ensuring all OD initiatives are inclusive and aligned to equality, diversity & inclusion principles, and supporting a workplace where everyone can thrive.
5. Leading Change and Influencing at Scale
You will lead or contribute to complex organisational development projects and transformation work, advise senior leaders on people and culture challenges, and bring insight and innovation to ensure we stay at the forefront of best practice.
Experience
- Strong experience delivering organisational development interventions
- Expertise in early careers, apprenticeships or workforce development
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Ability to influence, engage and challenge at all levels

Qualifications
- Level 5 CIPD (or willingness to work towards) or appropriate qualification level in a related discipline or equivalent by experience
