About the Role
As a Senior Peer Support Worker, you will be an integral and highly valued member of the Tower Hamlets Community Psychology team. Your role involves co-facilitating person and community-centred activities designed to inspire hope and recovery. You will provide the team with detailed knowledge of the Tower Hamlets borough, including connections and links to external partner organisations. You will lead the development of the peer support offer within the team alongside the service lead and support the understanding of peer support among team members and community partners. Your responsibilities include developing and facilitating community-based groups and interventions, supporting individuals in identifying personal recovery goals to improve their quality of life, and helping them live the life they want to lead. You will deputise for Peer Support Borough Leads in relevant projects and meetings and provide support to peer support workers managing people with complex mental health issues. Additionally, you will provide guidance, support, and development to Band 3 Peer Support Workers, including facilitating reflective practice, delivering training to Peer Support Workers, staff, and service users, and supporting recruitment, induction, and shadowing opportunities for new Peer Support Workers. Working closely with the Service Lead, you will contribute to the continuous development of the service, ensuring safe and effective practice that upholds the Trust values with communities at the centre of all care delivered.
Experience
Experience working within mental health services or community psychology settings is essential. Proven ability to support individuals with complex mental health issues and to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Experience in facilitating groups and delivering training is desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant peer support training or equivalent lived experience is required. Additional qualifications in mental health, community work, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
