About the Role
As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant within the Clinical Trials service, you will provide excellent customer service to patients and their carers presenting at the pharmacy research hatch and via telephone. You will participate in all aspects of dispensing clinical trial medications, including both intravenous and oral formulations, ensuring an efficient, structured, and accurate service. You will assist in directing, supervising, and coordinating teams of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Assistants in the daily running of the clinical trial dispensary according to standard operating procedures, delegating tasks appropriately. Your responsibilities will include collating and coordinating the clinical trial dispensary workload by producing the daily dispensary list to manage time effectively. You will issue clinical trial medication to patients and counsel them on their trial medication when appropriate. Additionally, you will be responsible for the coordination of receipt, storage, and supply of clinical trial medication within the Pharmacy Department. Clerical support will also be provided to senior clinical trials staff including Senior Technicians, Deputy and Chief Technicians, Clinical Trials Operations Manager, Specialist Pharmacist, and Lead Pharmacist as required.

Experience
Experience in a pharmacy environment, preferably with exposure to clinical trials or research pharmacy services, is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant pharmacy assistant qualifications or equivalent experience are required. Additional training or experience related to clinical trials pharmacy would be advantageous.
