About the Role
The Senior Policy Officer supports the delivery of member-informed influencing activity, responding quickly to emerging issues within the NHS landscape. This role involves observing, analysing, and describing policy developments and their implications for members and the NHS. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across directorates to ensure NHS Alliance policy positions are accurately reflected in content and activity. Key responsibilities include drafting policy content such as reports, notes, and briefings, and presenting work in internal meetings. You will also support the delivery and scoping of funded projects, liaising with the commercial team as needed, and provide administrative support when required. Additionally, the role involves helping stakeholder and member engagement by preparing briefings, taking notes, and sharing intelligence internally. Developing strong relationships with members and working comfortably with senior NHS leaders is essential.
Experience
Proven experience in policy analysis and development within the health sector or a related field. Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to emerging policy issues and work collaboratively across teams.
About you
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex policy developments and their implications. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience drafting reports, briefings, and presenting findings. Comfortable engaging with senior NHS leaders and building productive relationships with stakeholders and members. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and provide administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent experience in public policy, health policy, or a related discipline is desirable.
