About the Role
Redbridge Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is seeking talented and enthusiastic Senior Practitioners to enhance our early intervention mental health offer to schools. MHSTs are a national initiative responding to the Government’s plans to transform children and young people’s mental health provision. The team delivers evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, supports senior mental health leads in schools and colleges with their whole school/college approach, and provides timely advice and signposting to external specialist services.

Our MHST is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in diverse and often challenging situations. We are a dynamic team with strong connections to schools and the local community, providing support across multiple levels from individual intervention and whole school involvement to borough-wide campaigns.

This role offers the opportunity to deliver thoughtful and creative early intervention support within educational settings. You will provide interventions to children, young people, and their families experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs, including individual and group work. You will also provide supervision within the wider team and support schools and colleges in their whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing. Additionally, you will have opportunities to collaborate with local authority and healthcare partners on project work and borough-wide campaigns.

Successful applicants will join a dynamic, friendly, and supportive team that meets regularly to share practice and enable whole team development. You will receive frequent and consistent supervision, a tailored induction programme, career development support, and access to an outstanding annual CPD programme.
