About the Role
Join DS Smith Packaging Limited as a Senior Digital Process Engineer and lead the digital transformation within the paper manufacturing industry. In this pivotal role, you will optimize processes, leverage AI, and enhance operational efficiency across multiple sites. You will act as the key link between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), harnessing real-time data to drive smarter decision-making and foster continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include commissioning and launching new projects, ensuring seamless implementation and successful start-up. You will support site teams across Europe by traveling extensively, sharing expertise, and delivering impactful digital initiatives that improve performance.

Key activities include implementing and managing digital process engineering tools, using AI to analyze data patterns and improve maintenance practices, resolving process issues through data insights, creating and leading training programs on digital tools and analytics, setting performance metrics, and managing projects focused on ongoing improvements using industry best practices and technological advances.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years in process engineering, ideally within paper manufacturing or similar complex manufacturing environments
- Proven track record delivering digital improvement initiatives such as process optimization, automation, or data-driven decision-making
- Familiarity with AI tools, data analytics, and digital platforms to enhance efficiency and performance
- Experience collecting, interpreting, and applying real-time data to drive operational improvements
- Strong project management skills with experience leading commissioning, implementation, or start-up of new technologies
- Previous multi-site project delivery experience within a European or global business environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
