About the Role
As the Senior Procurement Manager for Print and Paper, you will manage the end-to-end procurement cycle and develop strategic category intelligence for offset and digital printing and paper purchasing across the US, UK, EU, LATAM, and Asian markets. You will be the print and paper procurement expert within our global central procurement team, supporting the business to meet its objectives while delivering significant cost reductions. Your role includes supporting supply chain activities, enhancing processes, expanding SAP/Ariba utilisation, and leading change initiatives for print and paper procurement. Reporting to the Procurement Director - Directs, you will be based in our London office with a hybrid working pattern.
Key responsibilities include managing relationships with key print and paper suppliers to build long-term partnerships, providing technical guidance to stakeholders, designing and executing sourcing strategies, managing RFQ/RFP/RFI processes, negotiating agreements and contracts, and utilising procurement tools to maintain a robust supplier base. You will research and evaluate vendors, monitor supplier performance, conduct site visits, analyse KPIs, and participate in meetings and task forces to align procurement activities with business goals. The role requires up to 20% travel and involves supervising procurement team members on various projects. You will also implement Springer Nature Group procurement policies, procedures, and tools.
Experience
- Extensive procurement experience in buying global print and paper within Procurement Operations, Supply Chain, Physical Manufacturing, or similar.
- Strong business and commercial background with excellent negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex, changing environments to identify savings opportunities and deliver value.
- Skilled in change management.
