About the Role
Since 2016, Patchwork Health has been on a mission to make truly flexible and sustainable working a reality for all healthcare staff. Their fully integrated workforce management solution helps optimise outcomes for organisations, managers, staff and patients alike. Built by a team of dedicated healthcare veterans and co-created with the NHS, their technology and services have been embraced by over 100 healthcare sites to date.

Patchwork offers a range of solutions including temporary staff banks, collaborative staff banks to share pools regionally, an innovative rostering solution for permanent staff, and an Agency Manager to simplify selecting temporary staff from external agencies. Patchwork Insights provides managers with comprehensive data oversight to monitor staffing trends, shift fill rates, pay rate escalations, and plan ahead to prevent staffing gaps.

Patchwork Health has been recognised as HSJ’s 2022 Staffing Solution of the Year and has received the HSJ Partnership Award and the Spectator’s Economic Innovator of the Year Award.

The Product Team at Patchwork resides within the Technology business area and consists of Product Managers and Product Designers. Product Managers create and execute informed, disruptive, and strategic product roadmaps that bring value to customers and the business. They work closely with Product Designers who translate complex industry processes into intuitive, smart, and usable experiences.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to innovate and expand Patchwork’s workforce management solutions across existing and new markets. You will own outcomes, lead with confidence, prioritise quality, and make data-informed decisions. This role offers autonomy to tackle impactful problems that positively affect NHS staff.

Senior Product Managers provide peer-to-peer technical design leadership and embed design strategies within the Product Team.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
Provide subtle leadership, guidance, and mentorship to define product strategies and solutions, embed good practices, and share new ideas within the Product Team. Lead agile processes by demonstrating best practices in gathering requirements, managing backlogs, writing user stories, and leading refinement sessions. Lead within technical squads and across cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.

Product Management
Define strategic roadmaps through continuous product discovery and performance tracking. Drive product outcomes through roadmap, backlog, and cross-functional collaboration, especially with Client Operations teams. Lead go-to-market and rollout activities.

Analytics & Insights
Analyse and synthesise insights from user feedback, product data, sales pipeline, and market intelligence to drive data-informed decisions. Prioritise and manage backlog continuously. Track product metrics to measure success.

Collaboration
Manage external stakeholders and lead client meetings as needed. Collaborate cross-departmentally to gather requirements and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Build strong relationships with Technology and Revenue teams to support sales efforts and educate on product capabilities and roadmaps.

Documentation
Create and maintain product documentation such as one-pagers and requirement documents. Uphold good technical documentation standards and foster learning within the Product Team.

Research & Innovation
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Evaluate new tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
