About the Role
Nelsons is the UK’s largest manufacturer of natural healthcare products, with over 150 years of heritage and a portfolio of trusted brands including RESCUE range, Bach Original Flower Remedies, Spatone, Nelsons Arnicare, Nelsons Teetha, and Nelsons creams such as Calendula, distributed worldwide to over 60 countries. As a Senior QC Analyst, you will be an active and flexible member of the Quality department, providing Quality Control services for the Endeavour Supply Chain Organisation and Spatone production operations. Your responsibilities will include sampling and testing raw materials and finished products, supporting the validation team, and ensuring adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) within the laboratory. You will also provide training and support to other analysts and assist the QC Manager in meeting daily Quality Control demands.
Key duties include ensuring all relevant training is completed and up to date, maintaining documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS) with strict adherence to Data Integrity policies, managing QC processes and Q-Pulse system activities including asset qualification and calibration scheduling, reviewing and approving QC SOPs and worksheets, conducting analysis and investigations including Out of Specification (OOS) results, and supporting method transfer and validation projects. You will contribute to customer complaint investigations, maintain laboratory cleanliness and sample storage, and liaise effectively with other departments. Additionally, you will help develop objectives and personal development plans for direct reports.
Experience
- Degree level or above in a Science subject
- Supervisor experience in an analytical laboratory role
- Experience in analytical test method development and validation
- Experience conducting Out of Specification (OOS) investigations
- Ability to plan and prioritise work according to production needs
- Hands-on team member with experience coaching peers
- Experience using work instructions and specifications for testing products and raw materials
- Practical knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Strong report writing skills
- Good wet bench chemistry skills
- Experience or knowledge of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) techniques
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment

Qualifications
Degree level or above in a Science subject is essential.
Bonus Skills

- Basic knowledge of microbiology
