About the Role
The Senior Resource Manager will act as a trusted advisor to the Corporate and Real Estate Practice Area Management Team, including the Practice Area Leader (PAL), Practice Area Manager (PAM), Senior HR Business Partner, and relevant Partners. The role focuses on optimising work allocation and lawyer deployment to maximise profitability and support personal development. Key responsibilities include attending weekly Partner meetings to provide strategic advice on workflow planning and resourcing, ensuring fair and efficient allocation of work across teams, and adapting approaches to suit different working styles and specialisms. The role involves identifying appropriate workloads for associates and trainees, supporting career development through regular 1:1 meetings, and facilitating cross-practice and cross-jurisdictional resource deployment to address capacity challenges. Additional duties include incorporating TOIL, holidays, administration, and non-chargeable duties into planning, producing forecast and utilisation reports, promoting cost-effective resourcing options, and liaising with delivery centre leads. The Senior Resource Manager will also provide feedback on associate performance to HR, deliver presentations to trainee intakes, contribute to Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, collaborate on resource management projects including AI exploration, and ensure high levels of pastoral care for lawyers and trainees through relevant training.
Experience
- Proven ability to manage high volumes of urgent actions while maintaining accuracy and focus, ideally in a large, fast-paced commercial environment.
- Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders, balancing competing priorities to deliver effective outcomes.
- Background in professional career development, training, or similar roles within a law firm, with a solid understanding of lawyers' skills and attributes.
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Qualifications
- Excellent IT skills including thorough knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
