About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Safety & Compliance Officer to join our Building Safety Team at Sovereign Network Group (SNG). This permanent role is technical and focused on ensuring compliance with landlord responsibilities and adherence to fire safety regulations and legislation. You will work closely with the Safety and Compliance Specialist – Fire, providing robust management of all fire-related activities. Your expertise in passive and active fire measures, fire risk assessments, and risk mitigation will be essential.
The role includes high-level contract management, resolving issues, and overseeing all fire-related cyclical servicing, inspections, and upgrade programmes. You will lead contract management activities transparently, addressing underperformance and breaches, and ensure all fire safety activities are centralised and evidenced within the building safety compliance team.
Collaboration across regions with the Safety and Compliance Specialist - Fire is key to ensure alignment. You will deliver and monitor fire safety compliance, ensuring SNG meets its regulatory, legislative, and landlord obligations by securing competent advice and guidance.
Additionally, you will support the development and monitoring of methodologies for current and future fire activities, ensuring documentation is detailed, reviewed, and compliant with regulatory changes. You will prepare and deliver performance reports aligned with directorate and organisational targets, and manage direct reports by providing clear vision, direction, and fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.

Experience
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets independently and through teams
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fire safety subject matters within the Housing Sector
- Up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications
- Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety
- Membership of the IFE, IFSM, or an equivalent professional body
- Award in Practical Fire Risk Assessment such as IFE or CS Todd
