About the Role
CBS News is seeking an experienced Senior Social First Producer to join our London bureau in a senior editorial capacity. This role requires a producer who understands how audiences discover, follow, and share news across social platforms and who can help shape international storytelling from the outset of the reporting process. You will collaborate closely with correspondents, reporters, field producers, the Foreign Editor, and social teams in New York to develop platform-native coverage for breaking news, major global events, investigations, and enterprise reporting. Rather than treating social content as an add-on, you will integrate it into story planning, gathering, production, and publication.

Key responsibilities include leading social-first thinking across international news coverage from story planning through publication; partnering with correspondents and producers to identify social storytelling opportunities; developing editorial approaches for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and emerging platforms; producing original platform-native content such as field-shot video, explainers, behind-the-scenes reporting, and correspondent-led storytelling; editing and publishing high-quality social video, graphics, and digital content to deadline while maintaining CBS News editorial standards; acting as the main liaison between the London bureau and CBS News social teams in New York to align editorial priorities, audience insights, platform strategy, and visual identity; guiding correspondents and producers on social newsgathering, audience engagement, and platform-specific storytelling; monitoring platform trends, audience behavior, and emerging formats to inform editorial decisions; helping build a consistent, recognizable social voice and visual style for CBS News' international coverage; and supporting fast, accurate responses to breaking news and trending conversations to ensure coverage reaches audiences where they consume news.

This role is embedded within CBS News' international newsgathering operation and offers the opportunity to contribute to a leading global news organization with a strong digital and streaming presence.

Experience
Significant experience producing social or digital video content in a newsroom, broadcaster, or editorial media environment. Proven social storytelling experience with strong news judgement, including work on breaking news, major events, or complex international stories. Excellent video production and editing skills with experience creating content native to each platform. Experience working directly with reporters, correspondents, producers, or editorial leaders to shape coverage plans. Experience developing social content strategies for news organisations is helpful but not essential.
