About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to innovative cloud services. As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the CloudFront Control Plane team, you will lead the development of key initiatives, build and operate cutting-edge features, and help scale CloudFront’s next-generation Control Plane services. CloudFront is a critical AWS service used globally for fast and secure delivery of web content, on-demand video, music, and live streaming events.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver high standards of safety, security, and performance at scale. Experience
- Building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers
- Programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# with strong object-oriented design skills
- Leading architecture and design of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling considerations
- Mentoring, tech leadership, or leading engineering teams
- Debugging, profiling, and applying software engineering best practices in large-scale systems

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
- Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
