About the Role
We are looking for a Senior YouTube Strategist to join the National Theatre Digital Team. The Senior YouTube Strategist leads the strategy, audience and commercial growth of the National Theatre’s presence on YouTube. This is a key role within the Digital Department’s evolving Distribution and Social strategy, focusing on understanding global, mass, and younger audiences. You will develop and implement strategies to grow subscribers, watch time, and engagement, while shaping content and packaging decisions based on data insights. The role requires a deep understanding of YouTube as a unique medium, balancing content strategy, pacing, and community-building across a range of content lengths and formats from short-form to full-length content.

Experience
Significant experience as a YouTube strategist, channel manager, or closely equivalent role with a proven track record of growing YouTube channel subscribers, watch time, and engagement.
Deep, current understanding of the YouTube algorithm, platform mechanics, and how packaging (titles, thumbnails, metadata) affects discoverability and performance.
Strong data literacy and fluency in YouTube Studio and other analytics tools, with experience using data to inform content and packaging decisions.
Experience developing strategy across a range of content lengths and formats, from short-form to long-form/full-length content.
Experience building and nurturing on-platform community and audience loyalty, beyond optimizing for view counts.
