About the Role
Hackney Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Charge Financial Coordinator on a fixed term/secondment basis for 12 months. Hackney is a vibrant and progressive borough in the heart of London, known for its diverse communities and commitment to equity and inclusion. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for calculating service charges, reserve funds, shared ownership rent, and ground rent while ensuring high-quality customer service for residents.
You will work closely with the Service Charge Team Leader and Manager to produce accurate estimated and actual invoices in line with legislation and local policies. Maintaining and managing the service charge database, ensuring accurate financial records and documentation, and supporting payment functions within the team will be essential. Your responsibilities will also include handling creditor payments, overseeing mortgage account activities, preparing performance reports, and engaging in budget monitoring to ensure effective financial management.
Additionally, you will liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies to maintain best practices in service charge accounting. Experience
Extensive experience in leasehold management and financial administration is essential. Strong understanding of S20 consultation processes and their impact on service charges is required. Proven ability to perform accurate financial calculations and maintain detailed financial records.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is essential for managing data and reporting.
