About the Role
Join the L&Q Living Housing Management Team and help create safe, supportive environments while delivering outstanding service. As a Sheltered Housing Assistant, you will support residents aged 55 and over across our sheltered housing schemes in Havering, Redbridge, and Essex. You will play a key role in our Independent Living service, ensuring residents feel safe, secure, and empowered to live independently. Your responsibilities will include acting as the on-site representative, providing guidance and support to residents and their families, conducting health and safety inspections, monitoring site maintenance, and working closely with contractors. You will also maintain accurate records, support policy implementation, and contribute to resolving tenancy concerns and anti-social behaviour as part of the Housing Management team. This role requires a proactive approach to delivering high-quality housing management services and fostering a welcoming community atmosphere.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in a resident-facing role delivering high-quality customer service and handling sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism.

About you
- Interest or experience in health and safety procedures, including fire safety and estate inspections.
- Proactive and well-organised with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to connect with diverse individuals.
- Positive, flexible attitude with strong team collaboration skills.
- Current driving licence and access to a vehicle registered for business use.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will need to apply for or hold a Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate to work within the team. Appropriate safeguarding checks will be required.
