About the Role
Carers UK’s vision is to create a society that recognises, values and supports carers. As the leading national charity for unpaid carers, we exist to make life better for carers, however caring affects them. Our support, advice, information and campaigning work are now needed more than ever, as unpaid carers are providing more care, adversely impacting their own health and wellbeing. This role recognises the value of social media in communicating with all our audiences, including unpaid carers, their friends and families, employers, politicians, service providers, supporters and those who may become carers in the future. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including senior management, and in partnership with external organisations and agencies, with targets set for engagement and other indicators of campaign success. You will manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, such as Carers Week, campaigns to influence legal changes to better support carers, membership drives, updates on devolved nations’ activities, and fundraising initiatives. Using a mix of owned, earned and paid communications, you will drive engagement in a challenging and crowded environment to ensure our messages cut through. This is a busy but varied role within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Experience
Proven experience managing multiple social media accounts and campaigns, with a strong understanding of social listening tools and audience engagement strategies. Experience in reporting on social media metrics and using data to improve communications is essential.
About you
You will be confident in managing diverse social media platforms to reach both broad and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content. Skilled in writing longer form content, proofreading, website content posting, and creating graphics, you ensure all communications are engaging, audience-focused and dynamic. You have a great eye for detail and can prioritise and reprioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively within a small but effective communications team to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
While specific qualifications are not detailed, a strong background in communications, marketing or related fields is implied. A real understanding of the issues faced by carers is highly valued. Commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential, with the ability to work within an organisation that fosters an inclusive culture and values diverse perspectives.
