About the Role
Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing by providing a non-medical perspective within a medical setting. This role allows you to spend time with individuals focusing on what 'matters to me' to them. Using a holistic approach, you will connect people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support. You will work to build trust and respect, offering non-judgemental and non-discriminatory support while respecting lifestyle choices. You will also seek to understand the unique fears and hurdles individuals face around their health and wellbeing. There is an option to work specifically with patients who are seeking asylum. As Maya Angelou said: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." This role is vital in supporting patients during times when NHS resources are under increasing pressure.

Experience
Good understanding of social prescribing, wellbeing, and community services. Experience in providing motivational and behavioral techniques is essential.

About you
Empathetic and respectful with the ability to build trust and rapport. Able to provide non-judgemental support and accept individuals at their own pace. Interest in working with diverse populations, including patients seeking asylum, is desirable.
