About the Role
The London Borough of Havering is seeking a Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team. This role contributes to delivering an effective children’s social care service as part of a dedicated social work team, aiming to improve outcomes for children and young people in line with statutory and departmental policies, procedures, and guidance.
Successful candidates will manage a caseload based on experience, post grade, and case complexity, applying specialist knowledge for interventions, needs and risk assessments, care planning, child in need and child in care processes, and child protection investigations.
You will carry out high quality assessments using child-centered, community-focused, and multi-agency approaches to bring about positive change by developing effective relationships and securing the best outcomes for children and young people.
Ensuring that children and young people’s plans and interventions are regularly reviewed and that children are protected is a key responsibility of this role.
Experience
- Relevant social work qualification and registration
- Experience managing varied caseloads and conducting assessments, care planning, and reviews in accordance with legislation and procedures
- Strong partnership and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, other agencies, and families, demonstrating sensitivity to diversity and cultural differences
