About the Role
As a Social Worker supporting adults experiencing homelessness, you will work directly with people aged 18 and over using a trauma-informed and person-centred approach to enhance their wellbeing under the Care Act 2014. You will complete structured and statutory assessments, working closely with partner agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to an appropriate housing pathway.
You will be central to delivering our homelessness prevention strategy, focusing on early intervention, stability planning, and continuity of support, ensuring the voice of the individual is heard.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference to vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness and committed to improving lives across Richmond and Wandsworth. You will be supported by an experienced Senior Social Worker within a small specialist team. We are recruiting two Social Workers. Applicants may come from adult or children’s social care backgrounds; however, experience working with adults is advantageous but not essential. This is a 12-month fixed term contract or secondment for internal candidates.
Key responsibilities include undertaking Care Act 2014 assessments and other statutory assessments for adults who are street homeless, providing specialist social work case management, responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, working jointly with key partners, and contributing to multi-agency forums. You will build strong relationships with partner organisations including Outreach, housing, health, Substance Use, Rough Sleepers and Mental Health Programme (RAMHP), Community Safety Teams, police, hospital staff, and homelessness services.
You will work in a strengths-based, person-centred way, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusive practice while operating within relevant legislation and Social Work England standards.
