About the Role
At Amazon, security is central to maintaining customer trust and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The NextGen Security Automation team is seeking a skilled and driven Software Development Engineer II to build autonomous security solutions that protect Amazon's customers. You will leverage AI/ML technologies to automate detection, analysis, and response across proactive, offensive, and defensive security at scale. Your work will directly enhance Amazon's security posture by improving detection capabilities, strengthening guardrails, and advancing automated security tools.

Key responsibilities include designing and developing AI/ML-driven security automation systems to detect and mitigate threats at scale, building and maintaining scalable applications for real-time threat detection and response, collaborating with security teams to enhance existing security practices and tooling, developing automated detection systems integrated into Amazon's security infrastructure, and researching and prototyping new security solutions while evaluating their technical feasibility.

A typical day involves architecting intelligent systems alongside top security engineers and scientists, building automated systems that protect millions of customers across one of the world's largest tech ecosystems. Experience
- Professional software development experience (non-internship)
- Programming proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
- Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

- Experience building and integrating AI/ML-driven applications is highly desirable
