About the Role

The Software Engineer will join the Global Markets IT (GMIT) team in London, leading a global development effort to build and enhance a new cross-asset trade processing platform. The role involves designing, building, testing, and deploying critical services for trade capture, persistence, and distribution, as well as maintaining existing trade processing systems.
Responsibilities include developing and testing services that provide real-time trade data to other GMIT systems, leveraging Nomura DevOps for deployments, providing system support beyond first-level, and collaborating with other Global Markets technology teams to enhance application capabilities.
This is an opportunity to work within a global, multi-time zone team focused on delivering robust, scalable trade processing solutions that support Nomura’s global markets business.
Experience
- Strong Java development skills with knowledge of testing and DevOps in the development lifecycle
- Experience with distributed messaging technologies such as JMS, Apache Pulsar, or Solace
- Familiarity with relational databases, preferably MS SQL Server
- Understanding of frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, and Project Reactor/Spring Webflux
- Experience working within global teams across multiple time zones
- Knowledge of JavaScript/React and/or Python is beneficial
- Exposure to AI technologies is advantageous as the team integrates AI into development workflows
