As a Software Engineer III within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a crucial role in delivering an outstanding banking experience to our customers. You will work in a collaborative environment as part of a diverse, inclusive, and geographically distributed team. We seek individuals with a curious mindset and a keen interest in new technology. Our engineers are naturally solution-oriented, possess an interest in the financial sector, and focus on addressing customer needs.
Teams focus on specific products and projects, providing opportunities to engage in areas such as fraud and financial crime prevention, identity services, money transfers, card payments, lending, customer onboarding, core banking, insurance products, rewards campaigns, and servicing innovations.

Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to end-to-end solutions in cloud-native microservices architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and best industry practices
- Using domain modelling techniques to build best-in-class business products
- Structuring software for ease of understanding, testing, and evolution
- Building scalable solutions that avoid single points of failure
- Developing secure code to protect customers and the company from malicious actors
- Promptly investigating and fixing issues to prevent recurrence
- Ensuring zero downtime releases for end-users
- Optimizing data read/write operations
- Monitoring and improving system performance
- Ensuring system reliability and operational ease
- Continuously updating technologies and patterns
- Supporting products through their entire lifecycle, including production and incident management

Experience
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with applied experience
- Recent hands-on professional experience as a back-end software engineer
- Proficiency in coding with a recent version of the Java programming language
- Experience designing and implementing effective tests (unit, component, integration, end-to-end, performance)
- Understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and web technologies
- Familiarity with relational data stores
