About the Role

As a Software Engineer III - React within the International Consumer Bank, you will work in a flat-structure organisation delivering end-to-end cloud-native microservices applications using the latest technologies and best industry practices. You will be involved in the design, architecture, and full software development lifecycle of innovative front-end solutions. Our Front-End Engineering team is central to this venture, focused on turning smart ideas into customer-facing products. You will collaborate in agile squads and tribes, with opportunities to move between projects based on your strengths and interests. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features; creating and maintaining clean, efficient, and reusable code; conducting thorough testing to ensure robustness; troubleshooting and debugging issues; communicating effectively with stakeholders; mentoring junior developers; staying updated with industry trends; driving continuous improvement initiatives; and leveraging enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity while ensuring secure and validated outputs.

Experience
- Formal training or certification in JavaScript concepts with proficient applied experience
- Proficiency in React framework
- Familiarity with writing unit tests
- Understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL
- Experience working in dynamic, agile environments within geographically distributed teams
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity, secure handling, and resiliency

Qualifications
- Proficiency in writing testable, clean JavaScript code
- Preferred experience building applications using React Native in TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience with native application development on Android/iOS using Kotlin/Swift
- Comfortable working with TypeScript
- Familiarity with latest React features such as Suspense and Hooks
- Experience with end-to-end testing tools such as Detox, Appium, WebdriverIO, or Playwright
- Extensive experience in modern web development including responsive design and performance optimisation
- Hands-on experience with design systems, component libraries, and implementing consistent UI/UX across large-scale applications
