About the Role
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Within Digital Markets Execution Technology (DMET), you will help build and evolve Execute, a real-time, latency-sensitive front-office trading UI used across global markets. You will deliver complex React and TypeScript web applications in close partnership with product, UX, QA, and back-end teams across a global organization. Success in this role is measured by resiliency, usability, and speed of delivery in a highly operational, business-critical environment.
Your responsibilities include executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build innovative solutions or resolve complex technical problems. You will create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Leveraging enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools, you will improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
You will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met by software code development. Gathering, analyzing, synthesizing, and developing visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets will support continuous improvement of software applications and systems. You will proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
Key technical duties include building and evolving real-time React and TypeScript UI features for Execute, supporting complex, high-throughput trading workflows. You will contribute to UI architecture and design for latency- and availability-sensitive experiences, balancing performance, security, resiliency, and usability. Integration of UI capabilities with APIs and real-time data services will be done in collaboration with back-end, platform, and SRE partners to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Strong engineering hygiene is expected through peer code reviews, automated testing, and disciplined release practices. You will diagnose and resolve production issues using structured troubleshooting, logging, metrics, and alerting, contributing to incident learnings and preventative improvements. Improving front-end performance and reliability through profiling, optimization, and proactive bottleneck identification is essential. Collaboration across globally distributed teams will help contribute to shared standards and reusable components to increase consistency and delivery speed.
J.P. Morgan is a global leader in financial services, committed to building trusted, long-term partnerships to help clients achieve their business objectives. At DMET, you will work on a mission-critical front-office platform with global reach and direct business impact, collaborating with passionate engineers and close-to-the-business partners who value ownership, disciplined delivery, and operational excellence. You will have opportunities to deepen your expertise in modern front-end engineering and broaden your impact across a high-performance domain.
