About the Role
As a Solicitor within Westminster City Council's Legal Services, you will provide professional, procedural, and technical legal guidance, including routine advocacy on tenancy management, temporary accommodation, and other local government housing, civil litigation, commercial, and regulatory matters. Working closely with the Social Care Team, you will handle routine legal cases, support more complex matters, and assist experienced Solicitors with high profile, politically sensitive, and financially significant cases. You will be committed to delivering cost-effective, customer-focused services within a culture of continuous improvement. The Legal Services team is dedicated to improving outcomes for families in the local community, with a strong reputation at the Central Family Court and a focus on child protection, adult social care, and education. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community and develop your legal career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Experience
A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx with demonstrable knowledge of childcare law, related legislation, and case law. Experience advising on local authority duties and powers concerning children and young adults is essential. A broad knowledge of Local Government law or a willingness to learn is required.
