About the Role
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking an experienced Sound No 1 for the West End production of John Proctor is the Villain, written by Kimberly Belflower and directed by Danya Taymor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, rigging, maintenance, and operation of the sound design. This role requires running radio microphones and operating QLab. You will lead the sound department, liaising with all other production departments and personnel to ensure smooth and efficient running of the production. The ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, with strong organisational and time management skills, is essential. The contract is fixed term until Saturday, 24th April 2027, starting 25th January 2027. All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract period. Experience
Relevant hands-on professional experience in a management position within sound for theatre productions is essential. Experience working on a West End production is required. Proven ability to run a successful sound department and manage a team effectively.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organisational and time management qualities. Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. Able to liaise effectively with all departments and personnel involved in the production.
Qualifications
Professional experience and skills in sound operation, including radio microphone management and QLab operation. Commitment to the full contract duration is mandatory.
