Full Time - 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 including some weekends on a rota basis. Shift hours are 7am - 3:30pm.

About the Role
This isn’t just catering … this is Jewish Care catering. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our high-performing team. You will work in a high-spec kitchen equipped with top-quality equipment, including Rational iCombi ovens. Our sociable working hours offer the perfect work-life balance, allowing you to make a real difference to our service users and residents by providing great quality meals and catering.

Our campus locations provide a great working environment with a diverse and brilliant team. You will also support catering for numerous events.

As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent service, creating an inviting and pleasant environment, and maintaining high standards. Core duties include ensuring all food produced meets agreed standards, developing innovative approaches that respect market trends, cultural requirements and Kashrut laws, monitoring and recording food hygiene and Health & Safety practices in line with policies and legislation, working within budget and administering unit controls, and leading and motivating the team to exceed customer service expectations.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment, both independently and as part of a team. Appropriate supervisory experience is essential.

About you
Energetic, passionate and proactive attitude. Ability to work to deadlines and adhere to budgetary requirements. Understanding of the challenges and sensitivity needed to care for and support vulnerable people.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications pertaining to the safe delivery of Food & Hygiene or Catering Services, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3.
