About the Role
Gateway Housing Association, a well-established London-based housing provider with over 3,000 homes in East London, is seeking an experienced Specialist Leasehold and Managing Agent Lead. You will play a key role in overseeing all technical aspects of homeownership services and managing agent operations, ensuring excellent customer service and regulatory compliance. Your primary responsibilities will include managing homeownership services such as shared ownership, leasehold, and affordable housing schemes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations. You will manage relationships with external managing agents to maintain high standards in property management, repairs, and maintenance. Additionally, you will oversee financial aspects including budgeting, service charge management, and financial reporting related to homeownership services.
This role demands strong leadership, excellent stakeholder management, and a thorough understanding of social housing regulations and maintenance processes. You will also be responsible for contract and performance management with managing agents, setting clear KPIs and conducting regular evaluations to enhance service quality.

Experience
- Strong knowledge of homeownership services including leasehold, shared ownership, Right to Buy, and service charges
- Proven experience managing external managing agents and monitoring property management performance
- Demonstrated customer service skills with experience handling complex resident queries and complaints
- Financial acumen in budgeting, service charge management, and interpreting financial reports
- Understanding of social housing regulations such as the Regulator of Social Housing, Decent Homes Standard, and Awaab’s Law
- Comprehensive knowledge of responsive, void, and planned maintenance processes
