About the Role
Neuberger Berman Specialty Finance (NBSF) is a capital solutions provider focused on the short duration high yield loans and receivables market. The team targets assets within consumer, small business, and hard asset segments to build short duration, income-producing credit portfolios for clients. Partnering with high-quality originators who demonstrate strong underwriting and servicing capabilities, NBSF leverages advanced financial technology and robust internal research to create diversified portfolios with strong risk protection.
This role offers the opportunity to join the Specialty Finance & Fintech Investment Team, working on cutting-edge projects backed by one of the world’s leading global asset management firms with $567 billion in assets under management. You will gain exposure to the venture capital community and broader private equity industry while contributing to the development and management of innovative credit portfolios.
Key responsibilities include developing cash flow credit models, underwriting and executing whole loans and credit facilities, building comprehensive financial models, interacting with investors, supporting due diligence of loan originators (primarily private fintech companies), and pricing securitizations using Intex or proprietary models.
Experience
3-7 years of Tier 1 buy-side or sell-side experience in investment banking, securitization banking, asset-based finance, asset-backed securities portfolio management, or asset-based lending. Extensive trading experience using Intex and interacting with market participants is essential.

Qualifications
Quantitative degree preferred in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, computer science, or related quantitative disciplines. Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA; database and programming skills are a plus. Extensive experience within securitization markets and the ability to analyze specialty finance companies and their assets.
