About the Role
Mizuho's Sponsor Coverage & Leveraged Finance (SC&LF) team is a leading participant in the European leveraged loan market, known for its strong reputation, broad access to new deal flow, and substantial balance sheet dedicated to the asset class. The SC&LF Portfolio Management team participates in financing transactions for private equity and corporate clients and actively manages a portfolio of leveraged loans and sponsor-backed infrastructure assets across a broad range of sectors. The team also provides ongoing credit monitoring and day-to-day portfolio management support for a portfolio of leveraged loans held within the Stratum managed account platform.

This role primarily focuses on managing a sponsor-backed infrastructure portfolio, including ongoing credit and financing monitoring, portfolio management activities, and transaction-related requests following the origination of the financing. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly numerate, and client-focused, with a strong foundation in credit analysis and proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis.

Duties include actively managing a portfolio of mainly sponsor-backed infrastructure and leveraged loan assets, assisting and managing Analysts on portfolio requests, providing timely updates and recommendations to senior management, preparing and reviewing internal reporting requirements, working closely with middle and back office teams to ensure ongoing loan facility management, supporting all aspects of the deal process, developing relationships with key portfolio clients and external counterparties, and providing general support to team members as required.

Experience
Relevant experience in the European infrastructure and/or Leveraged Finance market or a similar credit-related area. Exposure to a wide range of business sectors and strong credit skills are essential.
