About the Role
The Data Center Construction Cost Control (CCC) team is part of a larger, highly creative and passionate group dedicated to deploying Amazon's continuously evolving data center facilities. As a Sr. Construction Cost Engineer, you will provide cost support, guidance, and recommendations to the Data Centre project delivery team to ensure effective cost management across a portfolio of fast-paced construction projects. You will be involved throughout the full life cycle of construction projects, collaborating with experts from design, construction, procurement, finance, and legal teams to deliver efficient and innovative data centers.

You will help drive multimillion-dollar projects while upholding Amazon's key values, including frugality and insisting on the highest standards across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This role requires managing third-party Quantity Surveyors, validating construction cost estimates at various design stages, identifying value engineering opportunities, and communicating cost control goals to all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include defining and tracking cost performance metrics, leading monthly cost reporting, analyzing vendor proposals, validating final award amounts, implementing cost control and change management processes, ensuring invoice accuracy, and supporting project close-out and final payments. You will deliver results across multiple projects, consistently managing competing priorities.

Experience
Experience in Project Controls Standards including Estimating, Cost Management, Cost Forecasting, Schedule Management, Progress Measurement, Change Management, Risk Management, WBS/CBS/SBS, Cash-Flow (VOWD), and Benchmarking is preferred. Proven ability to manage third-party Quantity Surveyors and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams is essential.
