About the Role
Join Network Rail's Southern Region, one of the busiest and most dynamic parts of the railway covering Wessex, Sussex, and Kent. As a Stores Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the Logistics Team by managing the day-to-day running of our stores at Orpington MSP. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to critical telecoms infrastructure and keep operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include controlling and coordinating the procurement, storage, issue/return, and recycling of plant, tools, equipment, and materials for the Infrastructure Maintenance group. You will ensure stock levels are maintained efficiently, items are fit for use, and stores are kept safe and tidy. This role involves some lifting and carrying, so a reasonable level of fitness is required, but you will have the support of a great team. You will also be expected to work safely in accordance with Safe Systems of Work, method statements, and company procedures, while contributing to your own development and supporting others.
Experience
Ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in logistics or stores management is advantageous but not essential.
About you
Organised and attentive to detail with an aptitude for administration and maintaining tidy work environments. A reasonable level of fitness to handle some lifting and carrying. Willingness to work safely and follow company procedures. A valid driving licence and willingness to drive vehicles as required.
Qualifications
Ideally hold or be working towards NVQ Level 1 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. Hold and retain competencies relevant to the role as required by business needs. Full driving licence is essential.
