About the Role
As a Streetworks Officer within Westminster City Council’s Highways Services, you will play a vital role in managing and permitting works on the highway. Your responsibilities will include issuing licenses, permits, Temporary Traffic Orders, and Crane Licenses. The role is varied and dynamic, requiring collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to monitor and challenge quality standards, aiming to minimise complaints and maximise efficiency. You will provide expert advice and guidance on network management, works coordination, and legislative compliance, ensuring on-street staff are effectively tasked to maximise compliance and minimise risk. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of Westminster’s highway network and be part of a high-profile service within one of London’s most vibrant boroughs.
Experience
Proven experience in street works or Highways Network Management. Familiarity with Traffic Management and ETON complaint software systems is essential. Knowledge of Highways Legislation and the ability to understand technical failures in highway structures is required. Demonstrated analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities and proactively mitigate risks.
