Service: Student Support & Success Job title: Student Wellbeing Officer, Full-Time Grade: RU 07 Salary: £ 40,049 to £43,372 pa inclusive of London Weighting Allowance The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of Student Wellbeing Officer to join our vibrant Student Support Team. The purpose of Wellbeing is to support student retention, achievement and satisfaction by providing a range of services to support student wellbeing. Student Support Services support students who are experiencing life and wellbeing challenges and enables those students to develop skills that will enable them to manage those challenges and allow them to participate fully in academic life and meet their full potential. Wellbeing Services encompasses student advice and support services, counselling and mental health intervention. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to supporting students to overcome life and wellbeing barriers to academic achievement and supporting them in developing skills which will contribute to success in higher education and into employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day provision of complex case management, liaising with colleagues from academic and professional service departments, contributing to risk assessments and providing guidance and support to students. Additionally, the Student Wellbeing Officers take on individual specialisms such as supporting care leavers, supporting students with eating disorders and support students through Prevent procedures. Key responsibilities will include leading on complex cases linked to mental health and ensure risk is mitigated as part of Risk Management Review Group procedure, contributing proactively to the induction and orientation of new students, working particularly closely with College-based staff regarding the welfare needs of residential students and, in conjunction with the university security service and other staff, responding to emergency situations involving students in normal working hours and, where emergency situations arise out of hours, contributing to the work of the response team on the next working day. The successful candidate will have skills and experience in supporting students directly in both face-to-face and remote delivery and be highly motivated to make a positive impact on student life at Roehampton, advocating involvement in a range of social and personal development activities.
