About the Role
Canary Wharf College Crossharbour is a small secondary school within the University Schools Trust, where ambition and opportunity are at the heart of everything we do. We aim to provide every child with an education that is academically rigorous and deeply rooted in values.
We are seeking a highly ambitious and committed Subject Leader Music to join our Music department. The successful candidate will contribute to the direction of teaching, learning, and assessment in Music.
Our close-knit school community ensures every student is truly known, creating a family atmosphere where students feel safe, confident, and supported. Currently based at an interim purpose-built site with excellent facilities, we plan to move to a brand-new building at the Westferry Printworks site by 2030, designed to accommodate up to 900 students.
We pride ourselves on developing learning through activities beyond the classroom and leveraging London’s rich cultural offerings.
Our strong educational ethos, 'To Live, Share and Celebrate a Love of Learning,' is embedded through key principles:
- Curriculum at the Centre: a focus on what we teach our students
- Exemplary Behaviour: clear principles to achieve the highest standards of behaviour for learning
- Exceptional Teaching: a clear pedagogical strategy supporting consistently excellent teaching
- Valuing Every Child: working tirelessly to remove barriers to individual student achievement
The school is led by visionary trustees and senior leaders, with a committed and aspirational staff team. Staff development is a priority, supported by a collaborative approach that encourages ownership of professional growth through high-quality guidance, research-informed decisions, and tailored CPD.
We offer high expectations, outstanding training and CPD, a small school with a close-knit team, excellent student behaviour, and support for the most vulnerable students.
