About us… Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. About this role… Thames Reach’s hostels are transitional spaces where a 24 hour staff team support people to move in, assess their needs, and quickly identify the best place for them to move on to next. Skilled staff teams develop a personalised support plan to ensure people are ready for their move on and have holistic support with their mental and physical health, substance misuse needs, criminal justice issues and life skills. Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills. We are looking for a Support Worker to join the Acre Lane team. You will: - Support and encourage clients to become more independent. - Maximise income and reduce arrears. - Increase move on and throughput in the hostel. - Ensure the environment is safe, healthy, and reflective of our ethos and supports our client’s aims. - Be outcome focussed, fostering a culture of high performance and continual improvement on your and the team’s successes. To succeed as the Support Worker, you will be: - Organised and efficient in your work. - Committed to developing your knowledge and skills. - Flexible and responsive to meet the needs of rough sleepers. - Confident in managing a caseload of complex clients. - Experienced in using the necessary IT to collect, collate and interpret data. - Confident in representing Thames Reach at external meetings and with outside agencies.
