We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. About this role… Thames Reach’s Supported Housing is comprised of Accommodation, Housing First, Navigator and Move on services supporting people to make real and lasting change in their lives. People may present with complex mental health, offending histories, drug and alcohol needs. We are looking for a Support Worker to join the Bermondsey Project team. Please highlight the department: Supported Housing Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills. You will: - Engage hard to reach service users who have enduring mental health issues alongside a history of homelessness/complex needs. - Support service users to develop their independent living skills, by helping them to maintain their tenancy in their homes - Manage a case-load offering tailored and holistic 1:1 support, working collaboratively towards mutually agreed goals. - Work in partnership with a variety of organisations and services to ensure information is shared, needs/risks are monitored and reviewed. - Ensure housing management alongside health and safety checks are all completed to ensure quality assurance/compliance. - Work towards supporting service users into their own independent accommodation via the move-on routes offered to our service. To succeed as the Support Worker, you will have: - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to cascade information at all levels. - An empathetic and trauma-informed approach, when working with our hard to reach service user group - Be organised and efficient in your work - Good IT skills with the ability use Outlook, online recording systems, Excel, and Word. - Confidence in representing Thames Reach at external meetings and with outside agencies We are listed in the top 100 UK Best Workplaces 2022 in the UK.
