About the Role
Outward is seeking proactive, compassionate, and motivated Support Workers to join our dedicated team supporting young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs. You will support individuals with learning disabilities, behaviour of distress, Autism, PEG feeding, mobility issues requiring wheelchair use, and other complex support requirements. Your role will be essential in empowering the people we support to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives.

You will deliver personalised, high-quality care and support, contributing to the smooth and effective running of the service through key working, support planning, and daily engagement. Working closely with the Deputy Manager or Team Manager, you will help ensure our services remain person-centred, well-organised, and aligned with Outward’s core values: Engage, Enable, Empower.

Your responsibilities will include supporting individuals to achieve personal goals, providing direct person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence, assisting with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication support, budgeting, and community access. You will collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and other agencies, carry out key-worker duties including support plan development and risk assessments, maintain accurate records, and safeguard the health and wellbeing of those you support.

Additional duties involve identifying and reporting risks or safeguarding concerns, encouraging participation in social and educational activities, providing emotional and positive behaviour support, attending team meetings and training, maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality, and working flexibly across multiple services including evenings, weekends, waking nights, and bank holidays to ensure continuity of care.

Experience
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management in care/support settings
- Knowledge of health and safety issues within supported housing or care environments
- Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection principles

About you
- Male Support Worker required due to the needs of the people we support
- Must have access to a smartphone capable of receiving SMS messages and installing authentication apps for secure systems access
- Right to Work in the UK (please note Outward will not provide visa sponsorship)

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) desirable
- Additional training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and safeguarding desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence desirable
