About the Role
Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the EMEA Tax Department supporting the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing business. This role focuses on corporation tax advisory across multiple jurisdictions within EMEA, including interaction with withholding, indirect, transfer pricing, and other tax areas. The successful candidate will work independently while collaborating closely with the tax team and wider AWS business as it expands its offerings and footprint in the region. Responsibilities include managing and coordinating tax requirements for country expansions and new program launches, providing tax guidance to the business, supporting restructuring or transaction projects, researching international tax issues, and liaising with outside tax advisors. The role also involves handling ad-hoc enquiries and audit support. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a leading global technology company.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department
- Demonstrable experience in indirect tax, preferably within the EU, gained in advisory roles rather than compliance
- Experience working in multinational environments involving cross-border transactions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products at an advanced level

About you
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex processes and systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
- Collaborative and proactive in building relationships across teams and business lines

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or relevant business qualifications (e.g., Chartered Tax Adviser, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience with Tax Authorities
- Preferred qualifications include CPA or J.D.
- Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database languages is advantageous
