About the Role
Victim Support is seeking a committed and detail-focused Team Leader to coordinate and maintain excellent support for witnesses within the busy court environment. You will play a vital role supporting volunteers and the wider service to ensure witnesses receive timely, compassionate, and effective support throughout their justice journey. This permanent role involves leading the delivery of the Witness Service at the courts, line-managing Deputy Team Leaders and volunteers, overseeing daily case allocations, managing rotas and resources, and ensuring accurate data management and reporting. You will foster an inclusive, trauma-informed, person-centred approach, build strong relationships with local stakeholders, and champion continuous improvement to maintain the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of witnesses. The role may involve exposure to emotionally demanding situations, occasional travel across the court cluster, and occasional evening or weekend work.

Experience
Strong understanding of the criminal justice system and the impact of crime on victims and witnesses. Experience delivering services in demanding environments with a focus on customer experience and service excellence. Experience providing guidance, support, or crisis management to staff or service users. Experience gathering, analysing, and reporting information from multiple sources.

Organised, proactive, and motivated by service excellence. Strong communication, negotiation, and advisory skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work without direct supervision, manage competing demands, and maintain methodical working practices. Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive practice. Strong attention to detail and confidence using digital systems. Ability to support and lead a high-performing team effectively.
Qualifications
Enhanced DBS check required. Resilience to manage emotionally demanding situations. Willingness to travel across the court cluster and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
