About the Role
As a Technical Instructor, you will provide therapeutic input to members of Headway London's Day Service by running an extensive group programme alongside the therapy team. You will work within the Enfield Community Brain Injury Service and the Headway London Day Service (East), completing administrative tasks, providing one-to-one therapy and group work independently and collaboratively with the therapy team.

Your key responsibilities include delivering a variety of therapeutic groups such as dance, open gym sessions, chair-based exercise, upper limb therapy, yoga, tai chi, relaxation, memory and cognitive groups, peer support, and brain injury education sessions to ensure a wide range of therapeutic programmes are available.

You will carry out personalised therapy programmes with members, monitor their progress against rehabilitation goals, and provide feedback to qualified therapy staff. Techniques may include gym programmes, mobility and travel practice, relaxation techniques, behavioural activation interventions, upper limb rehabilitation, and support for developing daily and weekly structures to promote psychological and physical wellbeing.

Supporting individuals to practise and consolidate therapeutic strategies developed by qualified therapy staff, you will facilitate the application of these strategies across various environments including day service activities, home, community settings, and educational placements.

Additional duties include undertaking delegated assessments and outcome measures, managing clinical risk within your caseload, assessing capacity for consent, instructing carers and relatives, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and contributing to the development and sustainability of the Therapy Service through projects and grant applications.

Experience
Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions and group programmes is desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential. Experience in clinical assessment, rehabilitation techniques, and risk management is advantageous.

Qualifications
