This is your opportunity to join a growing team of digital specialists supporting technical learning at the Royal College of Art for 4 days a week. Location Battersea Campus (primary location), White City Campus (secondary location) London, UK. What are we looking for? An adaptable and highly motivated person to provide technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in Unreal Engine and some related XR processes such as motion capture and use of VR HMDS. The ideal candidate will have experience, either in producing immersive content in the commercial sector, or teaching it as a technical process in Higher Education. They will have a keen ability to problem solve and an ambition to support emerging activities. Candidates will have: Knowledge and experience of using the games development platform Unreal Engine. Knowledge and experience of one of the following coding languages: C#, C++ or Python. Experience using Virtual Reality technologies. Experience of supporting others in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of an XR, games development or digital training resource. Experience of supporting others in delivering in-person technical workshops. What will the job involve? Providing technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in Unreal Engine for all users, including the creation and delivery of technical workshops for small groups (15 max). Supporting the Lead in running the RCA’s dedicated XR Lab and Motion Capture Facilities. Experimental work and problem solving on a daily basis. Working closely with Masters students to support their independent research projects. Peer-to-peer learning with other technical specialists and continual learning as part of a dynamic team.
