About the Role
At Dell Technologies, innovation means challenging assumptions and reimagining how work gets done. As a Technical Staff Thermal Architect within the Engineering Technologist team, you will play a key role in shaping ground-breaking products and technologies. You will work closely with customers across L10 and L11 levels, collaborating with teams in the US, EMEA, and APJ to define datacenter cooling facility requirements and incorporate them into design solutions.

Your responsibilities will include productizing solutions and configurations, developing solution overviews, proposing BOM/SKUs, and designing liquid and air cooling solutions tailored to datacenter and customer needs across different geographical areas. You will leverage advanced thermal science, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer expertise to optimize thermal solutions and collaborate with technology partners, ODMs, and suppliers to drive cutting-edge technology development.

Experience
- Minimum 15 years of related professional experience or equivalent
- 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering with emphasis on thermal science, fluid dynamics, or heat transfer (can be offset with an advanced degree)
- Proven ability to analyze component and system-level thermal problems and apply advanced cooling technologies
- Experience with thermal testing, flow and thermal measurement techniques, and use of FEA, CAD, and CFD tools
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technology partners, ODMs, and suppliers on mechanical, thermal, and electrical system design
- Experience leading cross-functional investigations and presenting recommendations
- Proficiency with statistics, modeling, and lab systems adherence to safety and compliance standards

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Advanced knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal science
- Desirable: Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field
- Record of publications, patents, or participation in standards development is a plus
