About the Role

HMP Pentonville operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of people to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, employees, visitors, and the wider community.
As a Test and Inspect Engineer, you will work alongside experienced colleagues from various trades including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment.

Experience
- At least five years working as an electrician
- Minimum two years experience as a test and inspection electrician or equivalent
- Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems and catering equipment
- Proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

About You
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational, time management, and people skills
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Good knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements

Qualifications
- C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
- C&G 2391 (Electrical Inspection and Testing)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Excellent health and safety knowledge
