About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and beyond. We are proud of our reputation for clinical excellence, teaching, and research, and are part of King’s Health Partners, an accredited UK academic health sciences centre. Our commitment to patient care is reflected in our low mortality rates and outstanding community service ratings.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Tobacco Dependence Treatment Team as a Tobacco Dependence Treatment Specialist. You will work as part of a small, experienced team delivering tobacco dependence treatment across two hospital sites. The role involves developing and delivering services aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan for tobacco control, including ward-based interventions, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team training. This position supports the Trust’s commitment to prevention and optimising physical health and wellbeing.

The post holder will support Trust initiatives such as the Long Term Plan project and Vital 5 programmes, ensuring staff in target clinical areas are trained in very brief advice (VBA) and monitoring compliance with core care standards. You will provide clinical interventions for withdrawal management and smoking cessation, manage tobacco dependence outpatient clinics, and contribute to the ongoing development and roll-out of tobacco dependence treatment programmes across the hospital.

Our team is friendly and well-established, guided by the Trust’s values of Caring, Ambitious, and Inclusive, ensuring patient-centred care, innovation, and collaboration.
