About the Role
This is a genuine work opportunity on live construction projects. As a Trainee Dryliner, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced staff while developing valuable trade skills and earning a wage.

You will be enrolled onto the Level 2 Interior Systems Installer Apprenticeship, working towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to establish a career in the drylining and interior systems industry.

The role is suited to someone who is reliable, professional, physically capable and genuinely interested in learning a skilled trade. You will be expected to contribute productively on site while developing your competence through practical experience and apprenticeship training.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working on live construction sites and contributing to project delivery
- Completing tasks under supervision and, as competence develops, working independently in line with apprenticeship behavioural standards
- Carrying out general site duties, including moving materials, preparing work areas, mixing materials and maintaining clean and organised workspaces
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively in line with site procedures
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and plans to support accurate installation work
- Measuring, cutting and installing plasterboard to form walls, partitions and other interior systems
- Installing suspended ceilings, raised floors, insulation and soundproofing systems
- Carrying out finishing works, including sealing joints between plasterboards to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish
- Maintaining compliance with all site safety protocols and professional standards
- Working towards the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) outlined in the relevant apprenticeship standard
- Maintaining accurate apprenticeship records, including a logbook and portfolio of work completed and skills developed
- Working towards successful completion of the Level 2 Interior Systems (Drylining) Installer Apprenticeship
- Supporting the wider construction team as required

Requirements

Experience

- No extensive previous drylining experience is specified as essential
- Genuine interest in learning a skilled trade and developing a long-term career in construction
- Previous industry or construction experience may be beneficial
- Ability to work effectively in an active, fast-paced construction environment

Qualifications

- CSCS card - Red/Green (Grade Pass) essential
- GCSE Maths, Grade 4+
- GCSE English, Grade 4+
- Other relevant qualifications and industry experience will be considered

Apprenticeship Training

- Apprenticeship Standard: Interior Systems Installer
- Apprenticeship Course: Level 2 Interior Systems Installer
- Training Provider: TBC
- You will maintain a logbook and portfolio evidencing work completed and skills developed
- You will work towards meeting the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours required by the apprenticeship standard

Working Environment

This is a physically demanding construction role carried out in active, fast-paced site environments and often to strict project programmes and deadlines.

The role involves:

- Regular manual handling, including lifting, carrying and positioning plasterboard, metal studs, insulation and ceiling systems
- Working at height, including from towers, scaffolding and mobile platforms
- Working in unfinished building environments with dust, noise and varying temperatures
- Repetitive physical tasks and sustained periods of standing, bending and overhead work
- Working outdoors and in all weather conditions when required, depending on the site phase and project requirements
- Maintaining productivity under pressure while following site rules and Health & Safety procedures

You will work as part of a team while also being expected to take responsibility for your own tasks and, as your competence develops, work independently where appropriate.
